I grew on the a beach (year round) so owning a cottage didn't hold much appeal to me. Why would you want to care for two homes? Well now that I don't live on a beach and haven't for quite some time I'm finding myself missing it a great deal. From time to time I sometimes wonder if purchasing a small cottage might be worth the long commute. This little cute little cottage owned by designer Trudy Dujardin in Nantucket has inspired me to look at that idea again.
This weekend's project will be the tall wall at the top of the stair case landing. I've been eyeing this image from Caroline Reed Designs for quite some time and I think I'm ready to start going through the images and finding the ones I would like to frame and put up on the wall. She gives you great instruction on how to plan this out so I'm not going to do this blind but instead with a road map.
When the weather is dull and rainy like this I always get an overwhelming urge to pick up and take off to somewhere warm and tropical. So today I'm packing up my emotional baggage and taking a brief break from the world. See you tomorrow.
One of the nice things about blogging is the connections you make with interesting people you would never meet otherwise.
Case in point - Jan McGill - she is a costume designer and stylist living in the bright lights of LA. She has worked for Vogue, Cosmopolitan and many top photographers, directors, and actors all over the world. Her life is fascinating and the life she has led is beyond anything I could image. A former model who was the face of Revlon, Clairol, and Max Factor, she has turned her amazing sense of style into a successful career as a stylist working with many of the celebrities of the day. Seriously who wouldn't love to know a style expert. She's created a blog to express herself, her thoughts and opinions. Got to admire someone who does that right? I've read some articles that brought tears to my eyes, laughed out loud and simply found myself nodding in agreement or shaking my head at the absurdities of others. Either way it's a good read. Enjoy.
This bathing suit on Grace Kelly looks great and could easily be worn today. This suit is sexy and would be great for those of us who don’t have a bikini body anymore.NOTE TO BATHING SUIT DESIGNERS OUT THERE:Time to revamp some of the oldies and make them look current.
Jamie took some amazing photos last year of Central Park in the Spring. It's one of my favourite shoots. I've been to Central Park in the fall and it's lovely as well, but there is something about the renewal of Spring. Click on the link above to see what I mean.
