Happy Halloween

Since my son is no longer little and our neighbourhood has only one or two small children, we're boycotting Halloween this year.  It's never been my favourite holiday anyway and my son is more of a Christmas nut.  He's loves everything about the Christmas season - so we decorate for that.  These pumpkins are the closest I will come to decorating for Halloween this year.

Good-Bye Oscar

I was sorry to hear about the death of Oscar de la Renta.  One of my all time favourite designers and from all appearances a genuinely talented, sophisticated gentlemen.  I like this style.  Without going overly flamboyant and over the top, his style always maintained a sense of dignity and that is something that I not only admire but must admit is very hard to maintain. My heart goes out to his widow and to those who knew him so well.  The lovely hand written letter on the home of page   http://www.oscardelarenta.com/ says it all.

Thanksgiving 2014

I love fall.  It's not so muggy hot and of course the changing colours of the leaves are a free art show in themselves.  Every year for many years when we were kids, we went away this weekend to look at the leaves.  As a result we've been all over the Eastern United States and Canada as well.  It was one of those family bonding moments.  I wanted to continue this tradition with my son now that my parents are gone.  However, I didn't take into account that my son might not feel the same way.  He's a big fan of Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings - not to mention Sunday afternoon football.  In other words despite the fact that there is only two of us.  I find myself out buying a turkey and everything else.  My wanderlust at this time of year appears to have skipped him.  He'd rather snuggle up at home on this long weekend and apparently wasn't keen on the prospect of sitting in a car for long hours with his mother looking at leaves.  So once more I'm searching for Thanksgiving recipes and wondering what I'll do with all the left overs.  The fridge and freezers are stocked and the dog is following me around drooling and looking forward to my hours in the kitchen.  The leaves will have to do without me this year.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

What a closet - three stories high

This is an addition to the post below....

This house and closet are on the market for $12 million so get your cheque books ready.  Sorry - I don't think the closet contents go with it.  I'm adding a few more images of the closet and house.  Something I didn't realize before - there's a champagne bar in the closet - this woman thinks of everything.

Rear Exterior of the house

Dream pool

Dream BBQ pit and bar

Dream cabana

OK - now for the killer closet.

Can you imagine - one shelf just for your Chanel purchases?

The champagne bar and stools for entertaining in your closet.

Staircase looking down

Fruit anyone?

Love the way this is displayed like a store display - and that tub in the background.  Decadent.

The view looking up.

A view I didn't see before.

The remaining images are part of the original post.

Ok so this is one of my many weaknesses.  A really organized closet - but even I wouldn't dare to dream this high.  I could shop this closet for a month and probably still not see everything.  It's so organized and there is every colour scheme imaginable.  The closet is owned by Theresa Roemer from Texas.  When they say they like everything big in Texas - they aren't kidding.

A clear love of Hermes stands out in this wardrobe.
